So what should runners book instead? Anna Gammal, a massage therapist who works with elite runners at the Boston Marathon each year and also massaged athletes at the 2004 and 2012 Olympics, recommends either a sports massage (i.e. targeted therapeutic treatment for the unique physical and biomechanical needs of athletes) or a myofascial release massage (i.e. the application of gentle, sustained pressure on soft tissue restrictions). Both specifically target muscle release and will help improve flexibility, reduce pain and increase range of motion. Siladon Thai Spa London Video

If you have a client who has a sprain, strain or acute bursitis, for example, stone massage can help alleviate the pain associated with these conditions. Someone dealing with a sports injury, like tennis elbow, might also benefit. Common ailments, such as headache and bruises, might also be helped. Only used those stones once and didn't have chance to use again. They are heavy and can't be too hot when putting on the body but they lost the heat quickly and became cold so I guess need to keep putting them back to the hot water to reheat. Just saw a video about another way to use those hot stones: put hot stone in soup during winter time and that will keep your soup hot all the way till you finish. Place four small sized stones on the participant's face. Once the participant has settled, take four of the smaller stones, without oil, and place them on the acupressure areas on their face. There should be one stone on their forehead, one under their lips, and one on each of their cheeks. You should avoid putting oil on these stones as it may clog their pores or irritate their skin. A great alternative is to chill the stones for the face instead of heating them as this will help reduce any puffiness.

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones to warm up tight muscles so he can work on pressure points and problem areas to alleviate tension and stress. Hot stones may either be placed on the body or used as an extension of the therapist's hands, which allows the therapist to work more deeply and more quickly.
